Magnolias are one of Earth's oldest trees. They appeared alongside the dinosaurs, before even bees.

Curio is built around these unique, ancient flowers. It's a single barrel of perry and Sauvignon Blanc, with wild Magnolia flowers we foraged in the spring of 2022.

What's it like? Magnolia flowers release a spicy aroma, meant to attract the beetles that pollinate them. A gentle white pepper note has followed Curio into bottle.

Magnolias also have a citrus-honey vibe to them, and alongside the tropical Sauv Blanc and our floral perry Curio has a tangerine note, like the last release of citrus juice after chewing the flesh for a while.

There's a waxiness to it too, like we aged it in a barrel lined with beeswax (we did not). Magnolia flowers are hard to describe, but for us the overall flavour is somewhere between lychee and tart peach juice. It kind of reminds us of a green tea bubble tea with milk and peaches.
